Research Opportunity for Undergraduate Students in STEM (ROUSS)
PR-LSAMP / ROUSS is pleased to announce its scholarship opening for the academic year 2022-2023
To be eligible to apply for the PR-LSAMP Research Opportunity for Undergraduate Students in STEM (ROUSS), you must:
Be a US Citizen or permanent resident.
Be enrolled full-time in a degree program in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
Have a GPA of 3.10 or higher.
Not simultaneously participate in another federally funded program.
To Apply for the PR-LSAMP Program:
Create or update your electronic profile on our website. Make sure that the address in your profile is your POSTAL address.
Submit a Statement of Purpose.
Download the STATEMENT OF PURPOSE form from the website.
Submit a research summary or abstract of no more than 250 words.
Submit your most recent student transcripts, including grades by MAY 2022.
Request two letters of recommendation from faculty members.
The faculty member will receive an email with a link to upload the document. Make sure to inform the faculty member about this, it is the applicant's responsibility to follow up on this.
Participants Responsibilities & Agreements:
Attend all seminars and workshops organized by PR-LSAMP program
Comply with the requirements established by research mentor regarding the hours to be dedicated to the research work in the laboratory.
Maintain a GPA of 3.10 or more.
At the end of each semester, the student must download the form Student Progress Report from the website, fill the information and submit it through the PR-LSAMP profile for the research mentor approval.
Participants must present their research work at the annual Puerto Rico Interdisciplinary Scientific Meeting / Junior Technical Meeting (PRISM/JTM).
Complete the surveys and provide feedback to the program
Participate in TANIA project.
Regularly update their profile in the program website to include any publications, presentations, awards, or any change on their personal information.
